Full Court Healing™ Lil Nate’s Legacy Initiative

Protection Through Navigation Leads to Prevention.

Every child deserves to be protected, supported, and valued.

Why Full Court Healing™ Was Created

From Personal Loss to Community Purpose

Full Court Healing™ was born from one family’s unimaginable loss and transformed into a commitment to ensure that no family walks through grief, healing, and prevention alone.”.

Following the death of her son, Nathaniel “Lil Nate” Drew Edwards, Dr. Cassandra D. Edwards came to understand that healing is not only personal it is communal. Families need support. Young people need trusted relationships. Communities need systems that recognize people before they reach a crisis.

Full Court Healing™ was created to bridge the gap between protection and prevention by equipping families, educators, faith leaders, and community organizations with practical tools that strengthen connection, build resilience, and help restore hope

.

Our mission is not simply to respond after tragedy occurs. Our mission is to help communities create environments where people are seen, heard, valued, and connected long before a crisis develops.

Every life matters. Every conversation matters. Every community has the power to create change.

The Protection vs. Prevention™ Framework

Moving Beyond Crisis Response

Protection and prevention are often spoken about as though they are the same, but they serve different purposes. Protection responds to immediate needs when individuals, families, or communities are experiencing crisis. Prevention intentionally strengthens the relationships, resources, and environments that reduce the likelihood of crisis before it occurs. Together, they create a continuum of care that moves communities from responding to crisis toward building lasting safety, resilience, and hope.

The Protection vs. Prevention™ framework helps communities understand that lasting change requires more than responding after tragedy. It calls us to build trusted relationships, strengthen protective factors, improve access to resources, and create pathways where every person has the opportunity to thrive.

At the heart of this framework is one guiding belief:

Protection Through Navigation Leads to Prevention.

By helping individuals and families successfully navigate education, health, behavioral health, faith communities, community resources, and systems of support, we strengthen resilience, reduce barriers, and create communities where prevention becomes everyone’s responsibility.

Our Four Pillars

Building Stronger Families, Leaders, and Communities

Family Healing

We support families through grief, trauma, restoration, and healing by creating safe spaces for conversation, education, and hope.

Youth Protection

We strengthen protective factors by connecting young people with trusted adults, mentorship, leadership opportunities, and positive community engagement.

Community Accountability

We believe prevention is a shared responsibility. Families, schools, faith communities, nonprofits, businesses, and public agencies all have a role in creating safe and supportive communities.

Leadership Development

Using the A.C.E.S. Model™, we equip leaders to serve with accountability, credibility, effective-reflective leadership, and sustainability, creating lasting impact in the communities they serve.
